3 out of 5 stars Decent book   June 11, 2008

I think this book is better for an educational purpose of the basics in stocks than a book to help invest. As you might see, by reading the chapter on the experts that one expert says buy low and sell high and another says buying high may be better. There is a lot of info that contradicts other info.

In other words, buying stocks is not a good plan and buying good low cost mutual funds by vanguard, or Dfa if you can afford Dfa are no brainer ways to invest. So while we do not want to hear this go grab "smart money" by Jane Bryant Quinn or "The boggleheads guide to investment strategy" you will be glad you did. As for the stock pickers its time to say goodbye to this hard worked and not very fruitful endevour.

The book title is the best way to describe the book content; a rare phenomenone though. Rrecommended, to put you on track for stock investing.

5 out of 5 stars Extremely Useful!   June 5, 2008

I bought this book to start learning stock market investing. I had read other books or should I say I have tried to read other books. This is a very easy book to read and understand. I bought a few more for members of my family for part of their Christmas presents one year. Investing does not need to be rocket science and with all the resources on the web now, with some knowledge from this book and resources out there for free. It is a great investment.

5 out of 5 stars So much Great Info Packed into a little Book   May 31, 2008

I just finished reading this book for the second time and I can't say enough about it. It walks you through systematically from having no investing knowledge to a solid foundation built on a structured plan of action based on research, not emotion.

Jason takes advice from the masters of investing and ties it into a very workable strategy.

Get this book, you won't be dissappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Book   May 25, 2008
I have read (or attempted to read) many personal finance books and I have to rate this book as probably the best book in terms of simplicity, knowledge and advice. I really enjoyed and learned a lot from this book alone. Mr. Kelly describes in simple terms the investment methods of the masters - Buffet, Graham, Fischer, Miller and O'Neal. His investment strategies in the book are also simple to follow even for a novice. You cannot find any other book in finance like this one. And best of all, it is also extremely reasonably priced.
