The Best MT Book You Can Own April 18, 2000 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
Except for texts such as Dorland's, Drug Indexes, etc., this is probably the best MT book you can get. It is not only a course in itself (it needs to be used in conjunction with the workbook of the same name) but is a useful reference for as long as you work in medical transcription. With self discipline (you need that to work at home anyway) you can make this book substitute for just about any tech college or correspondence course in the subject.
Before buying this book. January 30, 2000 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
I wish I had known this book must be used with Delmar's Medical Transcription Handbook. I was under the impression that it would be more like HPI's Medical Transcription Workbook. I am studying for Part 2 (practical)of the CMT exam and was hoping this would be helpful. This book takes basic to a new level. One of the questions is "Describe the difference between rewind and review, the fast forward and cue." If you are still interested, you need to be aware that the answers are not included.
Excellent choice for newbies and oldies for honing skills. September 19, 1997 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This book is an excellent condensed resource book for basic generalized information specific to Medical Transcription. There are breakdowns of words, terminology, tests an exercises for skill building. It is basically a text book used apparently for Medical Transcription. I would recommend it highly for anyone going into this field or returning to it
